Finding the right therapist for you is key to successful therapy.

From a young age (12 years old, to be exact), I knew I wanted to be a therapist. I can vividly remember sitting in my 7th grade health class learning about mental illness. I found it so incredibly fascinating! I loved learning about the brain and human behavior.

Having dealt with my own anxiety and depression issues I know what it is like to not like the person you see in the mirror, faking a smile to the public, and crying behind closed doors. I still remember my first panic attack. One of the most horrible feelings in the world. After completing my own therapy (yes, therapists go to therapy too!)I knew without a doubt I wanted to help people deal with their emotions.

I completed my clinical practicum at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center on an Adolescent Psychiatric Inpatient Unit. Upon completing graduate school, I began my career as a child and adolescent therapist working in a school and outpatient setting focusing on trauma, anxiety disorders, and mood disorders.

I then branched out to providing therapy to adults with severe mental illness in a community mental health setting. My specialty is in treating those struggling with anxiety disorders and depression. I started my practice on a part-time basis in 2016 while I was still working full-time at a community mental health agency. Life happened, and I had to pivot a bit, putting my practice on pause while I focused on other aspects of my life.

Fast forward a few years and I am back to living out my dream as a private practice therapist. I started my practice because I believe in order to live a life with happiness and meaning you first must love yourself. I know what it is like to not love yourself. I want to help you get to a better place in your life, because you deserve it.

I can help you learn to love yourself and recognize your strengths, instead of only focusing on your weaknesses. I can help you be brave enough to step outside of your comfort zone and begin to address your unresolved issues. I can help you get better sleep and learn to put yourself first. I can help you slow down your racing thoughts. I can help you become less depressed. I can make you excited for your future instead of fearing the unknown. I know what it is like to not have joy in your life.  I get it, and I promise you, you are not alone. Mental wellness is not just my job it is my passion. I truly love what I do. I cannot wait to guide you on your journey to loving yourself and building the confidence you need to live the life you deserve. Let’s do this!

My specialty and area of focus is using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy techniques to treat anxiety disorders and depressive disorders. However, I have found it is also important to explore the origin of a person's negative thinking/ automatic thoughts in order to fully address unresolved issues and heal. In order to do this I pull from Psychodynamic Theory to examine unresolved issues/ trauma. Trust me, those memories you have of that teacher who embarrassed you in front of the entire class for not knowing the answer, affects you. Especially, if you have never fully dealt with those emotions tied to that event.
